How Should a Top Fit With the New Garments?
Short answer: It's about shoulder width, not sleeves. With the new sleeveless garments, a top works when its straps or shoulders extend out toward the edge of your shoulder. Tops that cut inward toward the collarbone are the ones that won't work.
The 10-second check before you buy
- Do the shoulders extend out toward the shoulder edge (not cut inward)?
- Is the neckline high enough?
- Is the armhole cut wide rather than scooped deep?
If yes to all three, it'll almost always work.
Necklines that work best
Mock neck, high neck, and henley necklines are the easiest. Deep scoops and narrow tanks are the ones to skip.
Fabrics that play nicest
Cotton, linen, and lightweight stretch knits hold their shape and lay smoothly.

Do I need to size up for the new garments?
Not usually. Focus on the shoulder cut and neckline rather than size.
